Emotion Stones

Regular price $43.00 CAD
This set of emotion stones was designed to help children learn to recognize and identify their feelings. Use it as a conversation starter with your children, as they learn to talk about their feelings and work on building skills in empathy, emotional intelligence, and communication. As an added benefit, the weight and smooth surface of these stones provides a sensory experience for children too.

Included in this set:
- 12 Emotion Stones (happy, sad, worried, embarrassed, tired, calm, frustrated, angry, scared, silly, surprised, and excited)
- 6 "I Feel" cards
- An original poem about these 12 feelings, which encourages children to talk their emotions
- A cotton drawstring bag (with a cute, smiley face bead attached to the string)

***IMPORTANT! Please be aware that, because these are natural stones:
1) Your set of stones will range in size - anywhere from approximately 3 cm (1.2") to 4 cm (1.6"). Please refer to listing photos to get a sense of the range of stone sizes you can expect.
2) Stones may also vary in colour, texture, shape and thickness.

Each smooth, lake tumble grey stone has been painted by hand with non-toxic acrylic paint. The stones have been carefully sealed with a non-toxic sealant, which adds durability and protects against moisture and UV damage. The back of the stone is left untouched and completely natural.

Some ideas for different ways to use the Emotion Stones:
- As drawing prompts (see listing photos for inspiration)
- Emotion Charades (Choose a stone without showing it to anyone. Act it out. Can anyone guess what stone you have?)
- discuss which emotions might be considered "positive emotion"s vs" negative emotions"
- talk about what your child can do to change from one of the negative emotions to one of the positive emotions (e.g. take deep breaths, get lots of sleep, etc.)
- guess how another person is feeling based on his/her body language
- discuss: When is a time where you felt _______? What is your favourite emotion to feel? Which emotion do you like the least and why?
- Categorize the stones into the four "Zones of Regulation"

Your Emotion Stones set comes in a cotton drawstring bag for storage, or to take it with you on the go.

* Not suitable for small children. As with any toy containing small parts, adult supervision is recommended.
